Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The world of immigrant work presents an unexpected dynamism and, in quantitative terms, a picture that has significantly increased over the last ten years. The career path is affected by several factors, such as having good starting conditions (educational qualifications, a certain social capital, etc.); being able to travel - as happens for many indigenous artisans - a journey that is configured as a transition from a job in which you learn a series of skills on the job to self-employment mostly in the same sector; the possibility of relying on specific ethnic networks already present in the local market. In addition to these factors, there are also 'obligatory' paths, descending from the search for alternative outlets with respect to situations of discrimination experienced in previous work experiences.
