Abstract
Last decades the academic revolution has led doctorates to substantial transformations, leading to a global redefinition of the organizational structure, the training system and the subject areas. In Italy, in particular, this process has taken place rather quickly and it is still ongoing. The contribution focouses on a single disciplinary area, the pedagogical one, to better highlight the transformations. A preliminary survey aimed to clarify the main characteristics of "doctorate in pedagogy", as it was told, is carried out.
