Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution focuses on the ability of Petronius to render ekphrasis functional to the characterization of his characters; in particular, it focuses on pictorial representations in the "domus" of Trimalchione (Sat. 29) and on the episode of the art gallery, in which Encolpio's first encounter with Eumolpo (Sat. 83) is placed, as well as on Circe's description in Sat. 126, in the context of a "locus amoenus".
