Abstract
This essay outlines the various stages of Grassi’s very complex education, with a particular focus on his thought and on his re-evaluation of Italian Humanism as a particular kind of philosophy which Heidegger could not possibly accuse of having forgotten the ontological difference. Particularly, Grassi’s latest works show how such research on Being is carried out through language and metaphor. This way, Grassi affirms the priority of metaphorical thought and language compared to logic and rationality. Metaphor allows man to understand the manifestation of reality and its sense.
