Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In the discussions on how to manage the post-war period, the possible economic roots of the second conflict, the existence of contrasts of interest and the struggle to conquer markets with instruments unfortunately different from the economic ones, have almost certainly played an important role. The impression is that it was thought to create conditions that would avoid the recurrence of the same phenomena through the drive towards the opening of markets and the adoption of free trade, also following the prevailing vision in the field of international trade theory, perhaps without give adequate weight to the fact that they had their origin in the characteristics of the industrial productive structures of the various countries, in the structure of the incentives that they generated and induced to control and "promote" the exchanges
