Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The evolution of global economic, social and environmental dynamics has given increasing relevance to sustainability, especially in relation to contemporary business activities. Today, the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria is no longer an optional choice, but represents a strategic necessity for companies that intend to thrive in a market that is increasingly sensitive to ethical and environmental issues. The transformation of stakeholder expectations, together with growing regulatory pressure and collective awareness regarding climate change, has accelerated the adoption of corporate policies that aim not only to reduce negative impacts, but also to generate value for society and the environment. In this perspective, sustainability is no longer confined to the level of corporate social responsibility, but becomes a real central element of competitiveness. Companies are pushed to rethink their business models, integrating technological innovation and circular solutions that allow them to optimize the use of resources and minimize waste. This evolution does not only concern production and operational processes, but also involves communication strategies and dialogue with stakeholders, strengthening transparency and mutual trust. In parallel, digitalization is playing a key role in accelerating this transition towards sustainability, allowing companies to continuously monitor and improve their performance through the use of data and advanced technologies. The ability to measure social and environmental impact in real time allows companies to make more informed decisions and respond proactively to global challenges, increasing their resilience and adaptability in the face of uncertain future scenarios.
