Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution offers an overview of Livio's fortune in the fourteenth century and its importance in the birth of the so-called pre-humanism, tracing the presence of the Ab urbe seasoned in the works of some of the most important intellectuals of the time. Among them, a prominent position is occupied by Petrarch, whose interest in Livio is undeniable but deserves further study, especially as regards his role in Livio's manuscript tradition.
