Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Sustainability is a major challenge for healthcare systems around the world. This theme, already central to the exercise of health protection in an era of growing economic pressures, uncontrolled increase in the demand for health, linked to demographic and epidemiological trends, growing expectations from patients and technological innovation, has become even more dominant in following the serious global health emergency caused by the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic. The pursuit of objectives of care effectiveness and, at the same time, of clinical and organizational appropriateness and efficiency in the allocation and use of resources requires the dissemination of the language, logic and tools of Healthcare Planning and Organization as a strategic priority.
