Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution examines one of the great epidemics of antiquity, the so-called Antonine Plague, retracing the known data and trying to identify the actual impact of the disease on the basis of historical-archaeological data. An in-depth study is dedicated to the phenomenon of oracles that the sanctuary of Apollo in Claros, in Asia Minor, emits following the questioning by the most affected cities in the region.
A very varied overall picture emerges, characterized differently depending on the areas examined, in a manner not dissimilar to what has occurred in recent years with the Covid-19 epidemic.
