Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The objective of this study is to outline some reflections on the state of development of the image of Latin America within the Italian literary field in the second half of the twentieth century. The analysis proposes to study the edition of three Central American works published by the Einaudi publishing house in the 1960s, specifically: Popol Vuh, le antiche storia dei quiché published in 1960, Storia della nell'America Cultura spagnola de Pedro Henríquez Ureña published in 1961 and Autobiografia di uno schiavo by Miguel Barnet of 1968, to delineate the actions that the Einaudi publishing house launched at the time of presenting three Central American works to the Italian public and studying the dynamics that from the literary host field of the work influenced its presentation and, finally, on the interpretation that the reader could have of the translations and of Central America / Latin America in general.
