Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The involvement of the extended family and the social network of families is an object little explored in France as in Italy. This article focuses on what we know about this form of family replacement in each of these two countries. After having presented the definitions of these recourse to the placement in the family or the entourage in France and in Italy, the authors mobilize the statistical knowledge and the reports which are published there. They address the questions raised by these solicitations from the entourage to social workers. A great diversity of forms of recourse in Italy contrasts with the more rigid French statutes of Third Parties Trustworthy and the recent "sustainable and voluntary welcome".
