[Autom. eng. transl.] Direct and edited by the most authoritative Italian and foreign scholars, the "Encyclopaedia filosofica" is, since its first edition (1957-58) a work that aspires to be the most complete and exhaustive recognition of the current philosophical culture. This new edition, entirely revised and expanded, represents the arrival point of a long and complex research aimed at the systematic presentation of the history, the protagonists and the concepts of universal thought. Organized in alphabetical order, the encyclopedia covers in its multiple aspects the paths of philosophy, even in the intersections with other disciplines: from law to politics, from economics to sociology, from psychology to pedagogy, from the history of religions to theology. The breadth of perspectives, not limited to the western panorama, offered with scientific rigor and expository clarity, is evident in the interest both for the classical tradition and for the most recent developments of modern thought.
