Abstract
This the eulogy of the image of Saint Mary attributed to Xu Guangqi by the Chinese catholic tradition. It is a poem of twelve parallel hexasyllabic verses written in Chinese in a traditional form. They recall the Latin prayers written in form of hymns entitled Alma Redemptoris Mater and Ave Maris Stella.
