Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The Italian interpretation of the text has sought to maintain maximum fidelity to the Greek original while seeking a lively language. In the choral sections some verses have been maintained in ancient Greek. Special features of the staging: the tragedy was introduced by reading in German and Italian the evocation of Elena in the History of Dr. Giovanni Faust, the well-known magician and necromancer, of 1587. The 'chanted' scene in the Greek original of episode I where exchanges of effusions take place and dock words between Elena and Menealo finally found and mutually recognized was made with sounds and voices of the cat duet by G. Rossini.
