Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The discipline of criminal proceedings is presented briefly to the reader, so as to be able to highlight more clearly the cases in which the appraisal must be arranged, whose regulation is illustrated in its essential features. This exposition is flanked by that of extraperital technical consultancy, which constitutes a novelty introduced in the Italian legal system by the 1988 Code of Criminal Procedure. Finally, we examine the main questions that arise when we intend to use in the process a so-called new scientific proof, that is a technical apparatus scientific considered new or controversial and highly specialized.
