Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] This work presents a diachronic analysis of the mythical motive of the Lord of the mountain, so frequent in contemporary Mayan narratives and that it deepens its roots in the mythical heritage of the classical period. The study of the ancient sources of this myth allows us to understand the symbolic richness and the values on which the oral literature of the current Maya is built.
