Abstract

Starting from one of Coetzee's reflections, according to which the analysis of African culture by African writers wishing to explain their culture to Europeans is lacking in some way, the article proposes firstly a study of the work of the Inca Garcilaso, through Antonio Cornejo Polar's theory of '"heterogeneity", and, secondly, according to Zulma Palermo's theory of the "frontier". According to both points of view, the Inca Garcilaso is both a heterogeneous writer and a frontier writer, a sort of bridge between indigenous and Spanish culture.
