Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The development of modern society has made it more evident that the movement, considered until today, at least in our civilization, at the service of man, also has an autonomous value. The study of the industrial movement confirmed this reality and showed how modern living habits can interfere with psycho-physical balance. Our civilization must find forms of compensation for these imbalances, and education has taken on the challenge of seeking in art, and especially in the art of the theater movement, a means to achieve this compensation. The particularity of the study of creative movement in theater consists in stimulating the awareness of bodily and mental aspects. The educational value of this technique is largely undeniable due to the fact that it is not limited to the domain of forms, steps and positions of a specific style, but seeks to understand the fundamentals and universal forms of human movement . el theater, as in all artistic activities, the person appropriates a requisite of clarity and precision indispensable for any form of expression and communication. In this sense the theater also has a social value. The educator who learns to observe and interpret movement can more easily distinguish and promote socially desirable and appropriate behaviors. Psychology and pedagogy (including theatrical) often have to deal with training, especially when the consolidated methods of education are no longer sufficient to prepare people to respond adequately to changes in role and operating context that social reality imposes.
