Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] At the base of the literature of the romantic-Risorgimento age there are two goals of decisive importance: the privileged axis between writers and people and the achievement of national unification. This explains the marked pedagogical vocation of this literature, which can go as far as accrediting a heteronomous vision of art, in which the work is justified above all as a 'good deed' on the political or social level. The essay ascertains this pedagogical concern in the representation of evil, in the motion of affects, in the sacred aura that envelops heroes and events, in the emphasis on values and in the recovery of historical memories in an exemplary key.
