[Autom. eng. transl.] In the Italian context there are numerous training experiences on road safety conducted in schools of different order and grade. From the observation of the proposals and materials used emerges a wealth of contributions and ideas often accompanied by stimulating multimedia and interactive aids differentiated by age. However, we also observe how a predominantly informative approach (signposting, rules, knowledge of the road context) is favored, frequently accompanied by the presentation of sanctions related to incorrect driving behavior and the emphasis on consequences. In particular, with reference to adolescents, the accent is placed on the deadly consequences and on the issue of respect / transgression of the norm. Frequent is the use of realistic / effect images / videos that show the state of the bodies and the car after the crash, or the recourse to testimonies of boys who have had dangerous accidents. Without denying the usefulness of a reflection on the consequences, this contribution intends to deepen and privilege the relationship between safety education and strengthening risk perception. We will see how the strengthening of the perception of risk does not coincide with being informed about the risk, nor with the theoretical knowledge or witness of the consequences. The experience of “dynamics” becomes rather central: that is the direct or indirect experience of the few seconds that can precede the crash and provide an experiential measure of the limits of our response systems and of the scanning of the environment and of reduced braking times depending on the speed of the vehicle. As we will deepen in the following pages, the perception of risk allows on the one hand to connect the danger with the actions necessary to avoid it, on the other the overcoming the gap between objective risk and subjective risk and finally involves the whole person by activating its cognitive components, emotional and motor.
