Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume is born from the desire to provide students with a manual capable of observing and analyzing the company in a systemic and integrated perspective. Particular attention is given to the specificities of the industrialization model present in our country. The reading of the change of the modern industrial enterprise is initially placed within a historical dimension (starting from typically Fordist mass production), spatial (for example, observing the variety of national capitalisms) and sectorial, to then highlight and analyze the most recent transformations, induced by epochal changes, such as the growing relevance of scientific and technological research (capable of generating radical innovations), the emergence of the phenomenon of globalization (with a closer integration between the markets and the greater variety and variability of final consumption contexts), up to the dynamics of tertiarization of the modern economy (between post-industrial and neo-industrial). The text does not limit itself to providing the reader with only descriptive or interpretative keys to economic and business phenomena, but in the wake of the tradition of managerial studies, it also provides the reader with possible tools to deal with change and to manage some key processes indispensable to pursue goals of competitiveness in the era of globalization, the knowledge economy and new technologies.
