Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume is divided into 11 chapters. The first two are dedicated to illustrating models and functions in the field of financial intermediation. The following three chapters deal with the taxonomy of financial intermediaries, illustrating their operational characteristics with particular attention to the role of banks. Then there are two chapters aimed at illustrating the regulatory profiles of financial intermediation with particular attention to supervisory profiles. The following chapter deals in detail with the problems of wholesale bank funding and refinancing with the central bank. The last three chapters deal with the markets of financial instruments, their technical characteristics as well as the methods of their evaluation
