Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In a scenario that some scholars define as "the society of the unequal", educating to development is a place of decisions and actions in which the need to feel permanently belonging to an active and meaningful body must be particularly intense for the inhabitants of the planet. The importance recognized today in the economics of human capital, among many controversies, must be translated into competences as a common good or into an increase in dignity and value, in competent pedagogical planning or opportunity to be undertaken on an inter-generational scale. An integral ecology is made up of community networks and daily gestures through which we break the logic of violence, of the exploitation of natural resources and of people. Today, conflicting interpretations mark the aims and methods of doing business. In this light, precarious and low-cost work threatens to the fundamentals the prospects for a future of humanity. Everything is connected: climatic emergencies, challenges in the redistribution of wealth, culture of waste. Despite significant difficulties, doing business - without resigning oneself to unequal societies - to educate to human development is today a prospect of action and research to which we are called not to escape.
