Abstract
This chapter presents an analysis of the potentialities and limits of some technological tools to manage the teaching tasks of evaluation and feedback in virtual environments. After a brief overview of the modalities with which
these activities can be realized, the pros and cons of their transfer to these new environments are analyzed, considering, on the one hand, the variables related to the physical context in which they are carried out, and on the
other, their impact on the preparation of oral and written tests. Likewise, some practical recommendations for the preparation and management of online exams, both in person and remotely, are presented as well as suggestions
for optimal use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) as a tool to provide electronic feedback, either mediated or automated. In this frame, multimedia and multimodality stand out as positive elements while the limited flexibility of automated feedback is an aspect that should be improved in the future.
