Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] To study the historiography of Douris of Samos we must deal with the relations between Athens and Samos in the fourth century BC. J.-Chr., When the island became an Athenian clerouquie and the family of Douris exiled. Douris returned to Samos in 322 BC. J. Ch., At the end of the Lamiac War, and, as far as we know, he had no direct relations with the Diadem of Alexander; in his Histories he devoted himself exclusively to the Diadoques who were active in the basin of the Aegean Sea: in the fragments of Douris, in fact, there are no traces of Egyptian or Syriac or Mesopotamian questions. Of particular note is the interest of Douris for Demetrios Poliorcete, protagonist of two surviving fragments of Stories.
