Abstract

The book brings together interdisciplinary contributions from international scholars on the intense human, pastoral and pedagogical legacy of Florentine priest Lorenzo Milani. The main aim is, on the one hand, to frame his experience and proposals historically in the complex socio-economic, political and cultural period after the second world-war in Italy as well as within the ecclesiastic environment of the time. On the other, the volume attempts to reflect on the pedagogical innovations introduced by the unique experience of the School of Barbiana.
