Abstract
This contribution describes the relationship between immigrants and the Italian labour market. After the “discovery”, in the 1990’, of the presence of migrants in the labour market, the Author analysed how migrants have become a structural component of this market. Employers needs and attitudes toward migrants are then described and commented on the basis of data collected through the Excelsior monitoring system. Some concluding remarks and suggestions about the management of labour migrations are finally developed.
