Abstract

The structure of an early medieval tomb recently found in Bergamo, near the cathedral complex, reuses an epigraphic fragment. The fragment preserves part of the funerary inscription of a child deposed in 460 a. D., another epitaph, of which only the name of the deceased remains, and a subsequent memorial graffito. The contribution focuses in particular on considering the older text, in which the refined language poses some problems of integration and understanding.
