Abstract
Transferrin C subtypes were investigated in Rome's population by ultrathin-layer isoelectric focusing on polyacrylamide gels from 301 samples. Three common phenotypes were observed, C1, C(2-1) and C2. The results are in agreement with the Hardy-Weinberg equation. A comparison with other european populations is made for TfC gene frequencies. Some C1B1 and C1B2 cases have also been observed.
