Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The issue of discrimination on a racial basis, as demonstrated by the Black Lives Matter movement, which was relaunched on a global scale in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd by the Minneapolis police, unfortunately continues to remain very topical today, especially in the United States and in some European countries. The analysis of the phenomenon proposed in the contribution starts from a paradigmatic case, namely that relating to the well-known trial story of the so-called 'Othello of Brentwood', the American football player O.J. Simpson, a case that can prove useful both for understanding the dynamics of current events and for reconnecting the threads with Shakespearean dramaturgy.
