Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Although hate speech and hostile behavior have been present in human societies since its origins, today hate speech takes on new characteristics due to the transformations in global online communication (Ziccardi, 2016). The diffusion of hate speech on the web (moreover irreplaceable tool of information) worries about the transversality and the ability to feed tribalisms, generalized aggression, polarizations, "original" racisms in an unprecedented way (Pasta, 2018). The text presents an analysis of the specific characteristics assumed by the constantly evolving online hate speech (Santerini, 2019). Then there is the link between rational consciousness and "unconscious" behaviors on the basis of current investigations on "affective neuroscience" (Immordino-Yang, 2017). In the light of the emotional aspects of hostility, some forms of contrast to hate speech are identified and categorized in order to draw indications of pedagogical intervention.
