Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume presents the proceedings of the conference held at the Catholic University of Milan on 3 December 2022, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It offers an in-depth reflection for all those who deal with visual disabilities: family members, educators, curricular and specialized teachers, rehabilitators. The topics addressed: beauty and accessibility for broad-spectrum inclusion; the family as a place of care and support; inclusive curriculum and new PEI for quality school inclusion; the life plan of the visually impaired in a longitudinal perspective; the training needs of the specialized teacher in relation to visual deficits; visual impairments and awareness of limitations; strategies for compensation based on autonomy; Augusto Romagnoli and the birth of typhlopedagogy in Italy; the specificity of the sensory disability; educational-rehabilitative paths and complex disabilities; Braille and new technologies.
