Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Copyright is the legal institution that protects the results of intellectual activity by recognizing the author of a series of rights, both of a moral nature (concerning the protection of the author's personality) and patrimonial (concerning the economic use of the work created). In the Italian regulatory context, the Law on the protection of copyright (LDA) and other rights related to its exercise (L. 22 April 1941, n.633) has laboriously chased the emergence of new protection needs arising as a result of of the birth and technological evolution and this has also had an impact in the field of figurative arts, in particular with the invention and diffusion of photography and, subsequently, of the Internet and new digital technologies, which have marked the regulatory excursus lived by the LDA and by the European and international legislation on copyright.
