Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Death of God and triumph of religion: such are the coordinates that frame the reflection of this essay. Secularized societies, which have relegated the religious to the mere private sphere, are experiencing the unexpected revival in the public sphere. It is in a context emancipated from traditions, purged by reference to God and the divine, that religion establishes its unchallenged triumph: not as a vertical relationship with the transcendent, but as a device for the social management of desire, as the horizontal administration of men and women community.
