Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

This essay addresses the so-called Fons Meritorum, one of the engravings of Diego Valadés' Rhetorica Christiana (Perugia 1579). It is argued that the engraving is a visualisation of indulgences as a system, and that it details the origin of pardons, and its distribution.
