Abstract
The essays deals with the history of the Pious Insitute for ricket sufferers of Milan, set up in 1874 by the free mason doctor Gaetano Pini. It shows the connections between this institute and the similar ones in Europe and USA, particularly with German othopaaedics and crippled education.
