Abstract

The didactics of motor-sports activities aims at improving the effectiveness of the action of the\r\nteacher, and consequently at achieving a successful cognitive, social, emotional and motor\r\nlearning in the student. Didactics is considered the most important resource of future professional\r\nmotor-sports educators and accordingly it can not be reduced to the mere ability to explain,\r\ndemonstrate and correct the exercise, the activity or technical movements.\r\nProfessional motor-sports educators will be considered didactically prepared only if they will be\r\nable to supervise and manage the following challenging issues: to whom direct their educational\r\nactivity; to justify the reason why it is necessary to encourage a physically active lifestyle; to\r\nchoose the right motor-sports activities and to establish when and where to propose them; to\r\nestablish with which educational strategies these activities should be promoted.\r\nIn order to answer to these questions, the future educators must possess: a widespread scientific\r\nand cultural knowledge of sports and physical education; a personal didactic criterion,\r\nopen to the most recent findings of contemporary scientific research and also enriched by the\r\npersonal experiences of teaching, which allows them to program in the short, medium and long\r\nterm; the willingness and expertise to establish an effective relationship with the student; the\r\nknowledge of the main forms of motor learning as well as the technical-cultural skills to operate\r\nin a learning environment provided with conventional and unconventional equipment; the\r\nability to plan an educational intervention progressively challenging and as most inclusive and\r\nindividualized as possible.
