Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] "Born to move": man has a body structure and a mind designed to move and interact with the environment. From birth and throughout life the motor functions allow us to relate, communicate, move, coordinate the big-motor movements and those of fine coordination (such as writing, verbal language and manual skills) thanks to a learning process that characterizes the entire developmental age. These acquisitions are structured in a spontaneous and imitative way but they can be induced and facilitated by an educational intervention that knows how to enhance them, please them but above all orient them towards global training and personal well-being. The text answers the four most common questions in the field of motor activities for the developmental age: the "why" is necessary to propose them, the "who" must benefit in a way adapted to the characteristics (physical, socio-cognitive and emotional-affective ) individual and typical of the evolutionary periods, the "how" to teach them through an analysis of the main methods, styles and strategies of teaching-learning and finally the "where" to propose them with explicit reference to the scholastic and extra-scholastic contexts. The discussion is suitable for those who choose to become effective teachers in the field of psycho-motor and motor-sports activities: students and graduates in Exercise Science or in Primary Education but also teachers, teachers or instructors in activity looking for a updating their cultural and scientific knowledge.
