[Autom. eng. transl.] This work constitutes an analysis of an empirical investigation that had the aim of reflecting on the topic of advance treatment declarations as perceived in nursing care, trying to understand under what aspects, to what extent they can influence the care infer-mieristica and how this could consequently evolve. Some aspects concerning the training of nurses on this issue, the nursing decision-making orientations in front of these documents, and the ethical and professional aspects that could change in the future were also explored. Of the 64 nurses contacted, 32 agreed to take part in the study. These were administered a questionnaire divided in such a way as to investigate the main aspects of the research. From the empirical investigation emerges the favorable adhesion of the nurses regarding the advance declarations of treatment, which are seen as a document that can be of help both for the patient and for the health care worker in fragile and delicate moments of human existence. The results still show that in order to improve the meaning of advance declarations, adequate training of nurses will be necessary, especially in the areas of clinical and medico-legal ethics, areas in which today they seem to be unprepared. It also highlights the importance of collaboration between the team members to achieve shared care planning for patients, or at least better define the possible role that the nurse could play in the process of drafting advance declarations by the patient, as a result of the evolution of the nurse figure also as an educator
