Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] During the last television seasons (2015-2016), after years of success, the talk show genre seems to be undergoing a process of attrition. Adopting the Television studies perspective, the essay analyzes the structural reasons for this crisis. Through a careful analysis of the schedules, the ratings and the schedules of the main prime-time talk shows, the role of editorial and network editorial policies will be determined in defining, modeling and modifying the Italian TV programs dedicated to the political debate . In fact, on talk shows the purely television objectives often prevail over the logic of political communication.
