Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The issue of dismissals and abdications in the Greek world is linked to the question of legitimacy and the exercise of power. The deposition of power is in the Greek world a normal tool of control of its exercise, applied to civil and military magistrates. The abdication was however rarer. In any case, dismissals and abdications derive of a conception of power judged not as coming from the divinity, but holders of sovereignty.
