Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] "The Messenger of Lake Garda" first appeared in Maderno on February 25, 1900. It was published from 1900 to 1914 in two main locations of Lake Garda, first in Maderno, later in Salò, from October to May once a week, from June to September monthly. "Reges Deutsches Leben" took place from October to the end of May on the Riviera and although German tourists in Italy also visited other places, "Der Bote" was the only German newspaper in Italy. It is therefore an important document not only of an interesting, but rather unknown chapter of the journey to Italy, but also of German-Italian relations in the first decade of the 20th century.
