Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The term production relocation identifies the decision of a company to move part
of its business in countries other than that of origin, in order to take advantage of
better production conditions, often associated with lower labor and material costs
prime. This process can lead to many benefits, including increased competitiveness
of the enterprise and the possibility of transferring jobs, knowledge and technology to the context of
destination. However, the risks are obvious: from the impoverishment of the countries of origin, up to
to the worsening of situations of labor exploitation and depletion of resources in those in
where the business moves. The SDC notes the complexity of the phenomenon and recalls the need to
propose development models capable of promoting human dignity and creativity, development
integral solidarity of peoples, a more equitable distribution of wealth and greater respect
for the environment and quality of life.
