Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume offers the critical edition of the fundamental grammar "Della toscana" by Benedetto Buommattei, published in a definitive edition in Florence in 1643. The "Note to the text", besides discussing the editing criteria, outlines the genesis of the work, using the examination of manuscript material and the methods of textual bibliography. The grammatical sources of the treatise are also illustrated in the notes to the text and in the introduction. The introduction then offers an unprecedented bio-bibliographic profile of Buommattei and the framing of his linguistic reflection in the panorama of the time. Three volumes of indexes complete the volume: treatises and chapters, names and linguistic forms
