Abstract
The young protagonists of the nine stories De Amicis puts in among the journal pages of Cuore ideally represent every land of Italy. The geographical spreading of the young heroes obeys a shrewd unitary strategy, which restores the local differences in the prospect of the construction of a great Country. The idea of Italy these stories give us is that of the poor and emigrants. The writer, pointing out their heroic virtues, aims to involve the people in an inter-class perspective.
