Dall’Inferno al Paradiso: l’esperienza concentrazionaria di Enrico Zampetti

The work Dal lager: letter to Marisa, written precisely in the concentration camps, offers the reader a journey similar to that of Dante to the underworld: on the one hand, the words with which Zampetti describes violence, hunger, forced labor seem draw from the first canticle, giving us back fragments of historical reality; on the other, the narration shows us a man in love with life who draws strength from his faith, from his Marisa, his 'angel woman' and from the books that nourish the soul and spirit, such as the third canticle, Paradise, read , explained and meditated in the lager. That otherworldly world is not only the arrival point of the Florentine poet, but it is the goal that Zampetti tends towards, every day, even in a place of death.
