Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In the fifties and sixties, theater and visual arts became contaminated and crossed. On the one hand, we are witnessing a performative turning point in the visual arts. For the other, the theater redefines its status by turning to performance. The main international experiences (John Cage, the Living Theater, the Bread & Puppet Theater, Grotowski) transform the idea of theater and question the boundary between scene and life. The reception of such experiences in Italy causes many artists to mix the suggestions of art with the languages of the scene. This is the case of Mario Ricci, Carlo Quartucci, Giuliano Vasilicò and many others, active in the Sixties and Seventies.
