Abstract
The contribution investigates reasons and manifestations of problematic condition of contemporary man. Recalling the reflections of the greatest interpreters of contemporary thought, explores the consequences in respect of the perspective of the future and the process of identity formation. Starting by the condition of concern, the paper proposes a re-reading of the process of identity formation in the light of a pedagogical perspective which emphasizes the concept of possibility for every person, and the exercise of an education as art of living.
