Abstract

The paper analyzes the main findings of an empirical research on new welfare in Italy. Case studies are characterized to be able to suggest a way out of the crisis of the Welfare State through initiatives that are born locally and that respond to needs that are closer to the new challenges of Italian society. Capability, social innovation and local dimension are the key words to new welfare.
