Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The collection of Evangelista Gorga, established at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, holds an interesting and varied glimpse of stories among the folds of the immense and heterogeneous mass of objects. The extraordinary life parable of its creator, first absolute interpreter of Rodolfo in Puccini's La Bohème and then an encyclopedic and almost serial collector, and the interesting, often extravagant, palimpsest of materials that made up his collection, has, in the last twenty years, attracted the attention of the archaeologists in an attempt to restore coherence to the context and at the same time to plumb the complex events that had characterized its acquisition by the state and the subsequent alternating events. The results of the cross-examination of the materials and documentary texts of the Milanese collections are presented, initiated in an attempt to re-attribute the correct relevance of the materials, but above all as a starting point to reflect on the significance of the educational collections today and their important role in the training of young archaeologists.
